Clearly, being a journey photographer is superb. The truth that I journey around the globe and take photos is unbelievable. However, there are some challenges to being a journey photographer and I feel a few of these issues had been on full show on this task in Wales.
Journey images is all about inspiring individuals to journey. However as a journey photographer it could actually develop into just a little bit straightforward to develop into desensitized to part of the world or a sure location. So irrespective of how lovely a spot is, should you spend lots of time someplace, it turns into a problem to actually seize it with the identical particular eyes a brand new journey photographer may need.
Anyway, on the images vlog right now from Wales, I discuss a few of these issues.

Being a travel photographer is literally my dream! It looks like so much fun! Recently started a photography Instagram and a travel YouTube, so maybe I can be someday π
Hey Brendan van Son, I have been your biggest fan from long time. Basically I would love to see you in the Western Ghats of India where I am documenting its surreal beauty from last 3 years. I am sure you will stunned by its awesome beauty and rich wildlife, flora & Fauna and mighty historical forts. For reference do watch my Travel films on my Channel- 'TRAVELER AK'. Thanks a ton for you covering such amazing destinations across globe. India welcomes you !!!
You did not GOT the cold i Norway – you GOT IT on the plane to Norway π
Dude, content aware fill in premiere and those shadows are history. Timelapse is super cool!
I love the place, how well preserved the structures are. Wait. Where are the people?
did you get a new bag??
everytime I see you upload something I wonder where in the world you are now
Wow!! That star timelapse at the end was incredible, idk what you're talking about that it didn't turn out!! π and just for the record you inspire me with every video and have been since 2016! Keep killing it brendan!!
I also have a question (again, I'm sorry).. How do you post pictures on Facebook and still have them look good? Most of the pictures I put on are fine, they still look as they should.. But some of them get compressed so badly that it looks like they're horrible quality when in fact, they're actually good pictures.. Even if I resize them to 960×640.. For example: I did some star photography tonight, and I want to upload them on FB.. In Lightroom, and also after exporting them, they look as they should. But when I have them on FB, they look horrible..
I can relate with the location familiarity Brendan. It's sometimes hard to find "new" stuff. Nice approach with the night sky time lapse. Looks cool despite the tripod shadow.
Despite the challenges you are facing, the time-lapse of the stars looked incredible! I do agree that each day can't always be perfect, but it does give you the inspiration to keep going into the next day!
I loved the time lapse star videos, and the picture, even though there were shadows in them.. π I never really get bored with some places somehow.. We go to Austria almost every year, I've been there so often now that I've lost count (over 20 times), but I love it there, it's so beautiful there and I will never get bored of it.. Also seeing the beautiful places on all of these vlogs, I can't imagine getting bored with them somehow.. Maybe I would if I were to travel all the time, I just can't imagine that right now..
Sure is tricky in Wales as the sun sets in the east – sunrise is probably best, but that's quite a directional light too!
Llandielo is my town! Wish I'd spotted you, Dinefwr castle near the town is a great spot.
You didn't go to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch! :^) The star shots were cool! And that transition walking around the church was killer! This seems to be a tough season to be in Wales … not full blown spring yet so the landscape is looking kinda British! :^) Apologies to Jodie … I'm allowed though my wife is from Scotland!
Hi Brendan, Welcome to South Wales
The time lapse of the castle didn't turn out that bad, just remember the important thing is Calgary and Toronto are in the playoffs hahaha
Well, what you did with those stars was great
Miss daily logs, would be nice to have them back for Patagonia π
To a lesser degree – of course – I get the struggle. I've been travelling once or twice a month for the last 2.5 years. I've now reached the point where if the weather isn't perfectly photogenic somewhere, views feel blasΓ©. Even though they're perfectly fine, they're in my mind just not as good as what I saw in Iceland, Vienna or wherever.
I of course don't travel as much as Brendan, but being able to travel on a regular basis, I at least always have another trip planned.
Gee. Seeing the same place 5 or 6 times and finding it less exciting than you did the first time. Try a location day in & day out for week after week after month after year after year! Those of us who don't travel regularly truly struggle to find new & exciting images to create at times. I'd happily trade places with you for a year. Just a year. I'd be happy seeing a dozen or more different countries compared to seeing the same skyline. I do understand what you're saying though. I'm just giving you a hard time. I'm constantly amazed by your schedule & your stamina. Keep up the great work so the rest of us can travel vicariously through your videos.
