When's the best time to do route66
You have to pay for the WiFi in hotels in the US?
California allows turning right on red
No disrespect, but please don't use your wife in your videos. She doesn't have your energy/wibe, and is therefore boring to watch.
I was not expeciting to see Cheyenne, Wyoming in this video
I love this video and how much you show my often forgotten home state. Wyoming pride!
I can't tell, was that the covered bridge in Long Grove, at the end? I was watching this video by way of a Brit reaction video.
Another thing that needs to be said on the safety point is, this is a very large country. You hear about bad things happening every day because itβs a very large country with over 330 million people. Thatβs 330,000,000+. And itβs a non-homogenous population, with many different ethnicities and backgrounds and ideologies all mixed together. So naturally, at any given time somewhere something bad will happen. But on the grand scale itβs a supremely safe place because despite those things happening, itβs still relatively rare.
Iβm a Wyoming resident and live fairly close to Jacksonβ¦..Your pass into Grand Teton will get you into Yellowstone too. Donβt buy a pass if youβre only visiting those two.
Love your videos! What a great video!
must be relevant to the video
Amazing video
"If you don't tip they will remember you" – one to keep in mind if I am even considering not tipping —-
Thank you Mark for all the great points, another helpful video.
Wifi is not inlucluded in the hitel price in the US? THat is going to surprise many forreigners.
Even if people do not speak a language, they may know a few words.
As an American, the most shocking thing to me about tourists is that they assume we're a lawless land full of stupid people. I'm a lifelong resident of LA, CA, we have our tourist spots here in CA, I'm always upset by how loud and rude these people are. Go to Yosemite, Sequoia, Disneyland, any tourist spot, they ignore barriers and signs, shout, and amass in large groups to take pictures without taking into account there are other people around. I've seen many tourists try on clothes at malls right in public, they take off their sweaty, gross clothes, try on what's on the rack, and put it back on the hangers. Remember, many of these people come from warm countries where deodorant is optional! They don't tip and are very demanding, and are very rude to waiters and other customer service employees. They rent cars and aren't able to drive appropriately on streets, I've seen many of these guys stop in the middle of congested freeways and highways just to take selfies. Many people criticize us here in the US, of course we're not a perfect nation, but WOW! Many foreign tourists are extremely flagrant, annoying, demanding, and frankly…..dumb. The point is, many tourists have many negative preconceived notions of Americans, THEY leave very little to the imagination when you imagine how they behave in their home countries. This is a great list you compiled!
Another thing here is that most sit down resturants have free refills on Soda and sometimes coffee. Sugar, milk and cream are free. you dont have to pay for water at a resturant. Im not sure if having to pay for sugar, milk or cream for coffee is just a germany and or europe thing. Some with the having to pay for bottle water instead of getting tap water.
Another thing is both Alochol and tobbaco are 21 here to consume and purchase. Expect to be ID if purchasing.
Biggest thing is tipping. Regardless of how you feel about it. Most servers, bartenders, hostees in resturants and bars make a low wage then the standard min wage that is then most state and the federal min wage. Tip most delivery drivers as well along wtih your uber driver.( They didn't make anything from uber). Taxi cab drivers also need to be tipped. I live in Vermont and I hear the low servers and bartenders complain about the Quebece candians that don't tip. Avoid poltics here including topics like universal healthcare or free college. People are divided on politics here including the topics of free college and universal healthcare. Please be respectful of my country and the culture here. Ive been to Germany and canada before. Ive always respected other countries cultures. No wants to hear that your country is better then theirs. Keep your opinion to yourself on this. This is common sense no matter where you travel in the world. Americans are usually very friendly people for the most part. We however dont like our country being disrespected. This includes military veterans and these that serve in the US millitary.
10:17 bears repeating whether you're American or foreign. After a year of travelling around the US, if you're paying less than $100/night for a hotel room or Airbnb, it's going to be shady and potentially gross. There are exceptions, but they are few and far between. Does not matter the state or city.
You are a very cute couple. I wish you a long and happy life together.
I love the heat, def be there July august from Australia π
Everyone eats a pound of bacon for breakfast and shoots their gun in the afternoon! Lol. That totally made me laugh. Great video!
The personal space! I wished foreigners would understand that we donβt get close here itβs annoying and we find it scary
14:00 the same goes for Europe
You are a great channel, explaining zipping. π
In New England you can "pass" on the right.
As an American, do NOT feel like you have to tip. Tip if you want to. I usually don't.
Blue Plate is the best mayonnaise on the shelf of any store. Always get a second mayonnaise opinion.
The biggest mistakes tourists make whether foreign or Americans is not reading the literature they are given when they enter Yellowstone National Park. Wild animals in Yellowstone are not part of a petting Zoo. Bison will kill you, Bears will kill you, etc. Also I saw Japanese tourists walking off the boardwalk on to forbidden geothermal ground to pose for photographs. Those areas can and will swallow you to your death by superheat.
(Wolters World–hello)
National Park passes not only work for national parks, but also national monuments, lakeshores, seashores, battlefields, etc.–more than 400 of these units around the country.
Mrs. Wolter mentioned getting off the Interstate. An excellent way is to realize that your smartphone isn't going to tell you that 25 miles off your route is the most beautiful place you can imagine, but it's too far to show up on the phone. I'd suggest buying a Rand McNally Road Atlas so you know what's just off your computed route.
I think there are actually 6 continents.
Europe is part of Asia geographically. They sit on the same plate.
The America's are 2 different continents they are literally separated. I do not see anyway they are together.
In American culture "the individual" is the most central theme. Independence, self sufficiency, mobility, etc are highly valued by Americans. Think of cowboys. Also there are states larger and less populated than multiple countries.
Never heard of anyone not considering north and south being their own thing.
I love your enthusiasm in all of your videos.
Great tips in this one.
Your tip about visitors stereotyping needs to apply to our own citizens here in the U.S. as well.
The combination of two continents on three separate tectonic plates (the Americas) has been scientifically debunked. However, so has the idea that Europe and Asia are two separate continents. Additionally, India is its own continent, that crashed into Eurasia, so referred to as a subcontinent. Geography has simply not caught up with science yet.
Yes this is the first time I heard about the 7 continents
the best secret language is Rumantsch or Swiss Germanπππ π¨ππ¨ππ¨π
Soo how about if youβre a black tourist? Will a black tourist get the same treatment as say a white tourist does? My main concern about going to the US is all the overt racism there. Also the racist cops as well.
I wanna cry cuz i will never be able to go there
1:08 there is no way americans understand dutch i mean literally nobodyunderstands thath shit not even the french
Biggest mistake in US is to yell Allahu Akhbar every 5 minutes π
Feel free to complain about whatever topic or trait if you're in the half-cognizant regions of the country: the northeast and the northern west coast, minus Alaska. In the sleepwalking areas, best keep quiet.
The only thing this country gets right is the freedom of speech and expression: you can say or write pretty much anything as long as it doesn't advocate direct violence and not get arrested. Also, people are not as pretentious on average as they may be especially in northern europe. Finally, the nature – especially west of the Mississippi – is vast and majestic and redeems a multitude of other shortcomings.
