I love what you do ! Most people just make videos but you bait and shame the scammers. Thank you for wasting their time (they have less time to scam others). Good job matey !!
Cutting the libe that doesn't make you any different from the scammers your video is all about.
lol my dad is American but used to live in Italy and does this stuff all the time good to see some justice
The thing about these petitions is, as a tourist, your signature means nothing. I was in australia and someone asked me to sign something for no money, and I was like ''ah… sure…'' but then they were like, wait where are you form? America. and they said, oh no, you are a tourist, we can only take signatures from citizens. I was glad to run into that guy, because that's honestly how these petitions work in real life… otherwise these people would just be filling out the petitions with fake names anyhow. don't sign stuff, don't join stuff, don't give your money to anything. I had a friend in high school raise money at a grocery store for her disabled brother to go to basketball camp. he didn't want to go… so she kept all the money. i'm so skeptical of where all my $$$ goes now.
In my 40+ years of world travel passing through many of the world capitals I often passed through Rome on my way to Libya where I worked for 2 years. On my second trip from Thailand to Libya I decided to take a couple of days off and tour Rome. The first thing I noticed was being an American my passport was not stamped by immigration which disappointed me since I liked the visa stamps of the countries I hac passed through. After getting cleared and getting my suite case, I started looking for a taxi, as I walked through the airport, I has many men walk next to me and out of the side of their mouths they asked me if I wanted a taxi, thinking it would be a rip off I looked for a real taxi.
The taxi recommended a hotel near the Colosseum. Checking in after a long flight and having some experience of avoiding theft I asked the hotel desk man did they have a safe deposit box that I could leave valuables in. He told me they had that service and gave me an envelope to put some cash in. I put $500 in the envelope, and he wrote out a receipt written in Italian with my room number and other numbers and what I glanced at to say $500. The next day I walked around Rome and was not impressed with many people coming up to me trying to sell me something, so I decided to cut my visit to Rome short and leave to Libya the next morning. As I checked out paid my bill and gave the hotel desk man my receipt, he gave me the envelope when I opened it to take out my money, I saw only $50. I looked closely at the receipt and saw it was written $50.00 . Since the hotel man had asked me to sign the receipt when gave him the envelope, I knew that going to the police was useless. That was over 35 years ago. I have never been rip off before or after that incident but then I never stepped foot in Italy again and have no plans to. There are many places in this world where you don't have to be on guard for thieves while on a vacation or travel. Rome and Paris are countries to avoid.
You were a vibe until you skipped the queue
Donโt cut in line
5:48 Okay, don't act so smart!
I went to Rome this year and the street guys were selling water for โฌ2 still but thatโs the going rate at any vending machine/restaurant anyways now at least
Sty away from another tourists at all cost
Scams in the first class . Donโt give any bank information specially your credit card money .just walk away. I remember in 2008 I was at the Colosseum where this guy was standing and tell me where am I from? Of course Iโm from Canada, but I told him I am from Mars and he looked at me with discussed and I just walked away.
Love your videos,, you are so funny!
Pathetic my grandmother 80y old even can stand in the line
Got back from Rome last month, I really enjoyed it. It is ridiculously busy but I bought those skip the line tickets, which themselves are borderline scams. But the history is interesting to me, enough to make the hassle worth putting up with.
I always like looking out for scams when visiting cities, this sign against drugs was the one I saw the most, must have gotten stopped over a dozen times over 1 week. I told them I like drugs.
Saw a couple bracelet guys just didn't make eye contact with those ones I hate their hyper friendly demeanor, can't even be bothered interacting with them.
The bridge leading to the castle San Angelo was like a fucking gauntlet. Scammers every few steps and they seemed to have a pretty good success rate. Especially the bracelet guys.

โSecond cop arrivesโ
โIm a hockey playerโ
I've just come back from Rome and came across many of these scammers. I wondered if the bottled water being sold was just ordinary tap water so I didn't buy any. I suppose if people were desperate enough, they would. I saw the water standpipes with the free water though. One guy dressed as a gladiator was told by one family to go away and he got quite nasty. I heard him mention the word "bast ardo" anyway as they ignored him and walked away. One of the worst places was the Sant'Angelo Bridge (Bridge of Angels) where the free bracelet guys seemed to be out in force. I think Lautari is actually a real charity that helps recovering drug users, but whether these guys actually work for them or not is anyone's guess! I encountered them down a dark alley near the Pantheon which made me suspicious! It was good that those security guys turned up around the Colosseum. To be honest, I never once saw the cops approach these people anywhere. They just seemed to stand around talking among themselves. I thought of reporting that gladiator to a bunch of them, but didn't see the point. I doubt if they would have done anything.
Hah this guy is great
Haha. I had lots of fun with the scammers. Been all over the world and I don't trust anyone. A guy tried the bracelet thing with my mom in a wheelchair. I kicked him right in the shin with my steel toe shoes. He won't be walking for a while. Why doesn't the Italian government kick out illegal immigrants? They contribute nothing. Just all grifters. I'm so going to Nigeria. I'm telling everyone I'm looking for money, here's a bracelet. Yeah, they would shoot me in 30 seconds. Just have fun with these jerks. Ruin their time, draw attention, follow them.
I'll be in Rome next month. Thanks for telling us about the scammers! ๐
This guy is an absolute loser. Looking for trouble because he has nothing better to do. The last clip sums up this lonely guy. Grabs a beer, cuts in line at a supermarket. Drinks his beer on the side of the road while getting all excited about a possible altercation between 2 drivers.
I โค Rome ๐ฎ๐น but these Scammers are a pain in the Arse! They kept harassing people!
you are such a dick tbh… I really hope kharma gets u back man
I dont get why you would brake up hands of two people walking together, when you walk alone? Just walk around em ;). But nice video, good cause ๐๐
I just got back from Italy and some of the front waiters at the restaurants are big scammers. They stand on street and try to get you in their restaurant. When I'm hungry I'll find food. Went into one place they had no wine on their list. Waiter said I'll fix you up. Luckly I asked how much before he opened the bottle. 130 euro lol I said no then he found a 30 euro wine.
Ok freaking entitled much. Who do you think you are?? Wait in line to purchase like everyone else butthead
Where you from? What's you name? Hey my fren? I've heard this bullshit all over Europe for the last 50 years. You help please?
I always say Im a Cuban diplomate and they are always temporarily stumped
what am i missing. why shouldn't you have to wait in line like everyone else. tourist or not. it's people like you who give my Italy a bad name.
Are the scammers Italians or?
ITALY IS OVER IT'S AFRICA NOW DUMB EUROPE
You do a good job in showing the scammers. If people all over the planet asking me where i am from i answer Finnland. They dont speak it and their primitive trap is going to fail.
When someone in the street ask where are you from, is gonna jack you for sure
Miss your videos man!
Should have covered the restaurant that Nasone was in front of. It's a hot mess preying on starving tourists that wander out of the Colosseum!
Love it! Sign it and put a big zero on it so that others donโt pay as well! ๐๐๐
Italian police do nothing to stop the tourists being scammed, they pretend not to notice and if you ask for help they pretend that they do not understand you. Italy does not deserve tourists.
I hope and pray one day I have the confidence you have
My last time in Rome was in September 1997. Our first day in the outer suburbs, we stopped at a supermarket to load up on supplies to see us through to Oktoberfest in Munich. It was a Sunday afternoon. We came back to the parking lot and someone had stolen our van ( with clothes, backpacks, photos, shoes, sleeping gear. We had our passports on us, thank goodness, but this was standard practice for whenever we left the van etc)…, most likely gypsies according to the local Police (who initially didnt believe us). We had got 4 months worth of travelling through Europe at this point. Rome was still a highlight for me as I love classical studies, antiquity and the ruins. It was busy but not as busy as per this video. Some local expats threw us a party and we were given clothes to continue our travels. Had a great time!
Entitled, spoiled, arrogant perhaps. The plastic "gladiators" at the Colosseum are intensely irritating.
Just talked to one of the bracelet guys and managed to have a conversation without him even offering a bracelet. Told him to make an honest living after all it took to leave his shit hole of a country.
He said he wished it was that easy and even said thank you for talking to me like a real person. Crazy they put the time in to learn some English but no effort in making an honest living
Some scammer schlemiel asked my dad about the time. After that, the guy tried to put a bracelet on him as a gesture of โgratitudeโ, luckily a store was just 5 ft away so we just went inside. Pretty good find considering I was scammer hunting/sightseeing in Rome.
I love your fearlessness in this. Haha. I'm glad you're ruining their day
Same here, they would be catching hands if they got too fn close lmao..
Love your vids๐๐ป
โYeh thatโs what she said โ๐๐๐
